Sharp to Start Mass Production of 3MP CCD Camera Module

Sharp will start producing two handset-use CCD (Charged Coupling Device) camera modules from September 2005 with monthly volume set to 350,000 units. Coming with two form factors as 20x10x23.5mm and 22x13.5x10.1mm, Sharp states the camera modules can deliver images up to 2048x1536 pixels with minimal distortion.
